I
have worked closely with the COO, and Sales VP of Dycom, a fortune 500
company, as well as other Construction and Engineering presidents of Dycom
subsidiaries including ADTRAN to develop an RFP (Bid) and supporting
documents on a 1+ billion dollar Turn-Key CAF project. o
Dycom
was awarded as the sole owner of the Turn-Key program. Afterwards,
there were months of “in-person” meetings and conference calls to discuss and
develop the contract language. o
As
the SR Program Manager of the CAF1 and CAF2 programs, it has been my
responsibility to develop and lead the program level team and be the liaison
between the customer and the production side of Dycom’s engineering and
construction firms. I host and lead conference calls with key players
in all companies as well as attend weekly update calls, hosted by my program
supervisors that bring together the customers and Dycom’s state-level project
managers. Our current program is utilizing P6 as the Program Database and
Smartsheets as the project database, which allows digital inputs from the
field and streamlined automation of data into P6. This program consists
of over 200 turn-key activities per work order for a program total of over
7,000 miles of fiber and 3,800 site placements/turn-up’s with associated copper
placement and customer throws. · Stimulus Program Management o
Stimulus
was $500+ million dollars and hundreds of employees. It was a
government funded program that spanned across 14 states and included over
2,700 job sites. I was the author and manager of the collaborative
tracking system used by Windsteam and the many other companies preforming
work on this project. I was also a key player in the ongoing process
development and improvement campaign that was responsible for ensuring the
success of the entire program. This program management experience spanned 4
years (2010-2014). Project Management Highlights · CAF1 o
This
was a 10 month Windstream project that was fast and furious. I managed
the engineering of 4 states that placed approximately 450 miles of fiber, 350
sites and associated cutover engineering. My task was to ramp up from
10 core employees to around 65. I hired, trained, and managed these employees
as well as 4 supervisors during this project. o
I
bid this project, developed it, and managed it. We were so successful
that all of our competitor’s work was reassigned to us. This project
helped solidify an earlier developed relationship with the customer, and
ended up paving the way for us winning the contract mentioned previously
against Ericsson, Alcatel-lucent, and Bechtel. · Pole vacate Project o
Previous
to the CAF1 Project, I ran a project for our Verizon customer that required
me to take over our Verizon department which only had 6 employees and a
manager at the time. Over the 8 month life of that project, I ramped up
to 35 engineers. Due to our quality and on-time delivery, the customer
reassigned the work from our competitor’s areas to us. · TIRKS Project o
This
was a 3 year project that ran prior to our Stimulus program. During this
program, I led a team of ISP and OSP engineers to audit all central offices
and many of their remote locations for Verizon in TX and CA. They were
converting their IOF and business records from AAIS to TIRKS, which required
a great deal of research, reconstruction, and record clean-up. This was a
very high profile and complex project that was followed by the top executives
of Verizon. I developed the bid, scope of work, and managed this
project until its successful completion. Engineering Highlights · Prior to my management
experience, I was the engineering and drafting “go-to guy” and “SPOC” (single
point of contact) for Tesinc projects covering Copper, FTTP, MDU, and MTU
projects for MD, VA, NY, PA, FL, and TX. Wellsco 2004-2005 Paragould, Arkansas ·
Drafter
and Engineer - California project ·
